Apply to rm@withu.ie Job Description: A senior translator (English to GERMAN) and team leader who can help to build up a team of professional translators at our newly established Munich office. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 6 years’ experience as a full-time translator in the IT field (localization), in-depth knowledge of the industry-typical workflows and translation tools and good interpersonal and team leadership skills. Must be willing to act as a mentor to more junior translators, and supervise their work. This position is NOT a project manager position, i.e. does not involve dealing with clients. It requires someone with hands-on translation experience who can hand on their knowledge to others, and lead by example. Tasks will involve translating software, online help systems, user documentation, but also company brochures, newsletters, educational materials, and similar. Candidate Requirements: * Degree in Translation. * Minimum of 6 years as a professional translator. * Minimum of one year team-leading experience. * Willingness to teach and help younger translators. * Attention to detail, excellent German writing style. * Good knowledge of translation tools (SDLX, Idiom, Trados, Catalyst, Passolo and similar) * Interest in new technologies (as translations are mostly in the fields of IT, home entertainment, etc.) | ||||||||||||
