What is your best project so far? Why?
My current project in an engineering company is a success because I have shown my clients what they actually need. They were thinking chiefly in terms of specialist vocabulary, so I took these terms and use them as tools for training grammar and structures. I use a lot of real-life situation role-plays where they have to negotiate a contract, take a telephone message or give a presentation on a site issue. I am genuinely interested in my client's business and learn about it fast to utilize this knowledge for their learning. They now all handle international business situations with much more confidence and fewer inhibitions, and have increased their listening and speaking skills enormously.

What do your students / customers say about you?
I know that they enjoy my classes - they have fun and make jokes in English. Almost all my jobs have been gained through recommendation - business partners pass on my name to their associates. I create a relaxed atmosphere for learning which helps to break down inhibitions and a fear of making mistakes. They appreciate my personal communicative approach and are proud when they master a real business situation after practising it in a training session. They find me very approachable and enjoy my sense of humor but they also know when I mean business, and will drill a certain point if necessary. They trust me and know that I will support them patiently with any difficulties. They also know I have high expectations of them and rise to these.
