ABOUT MEI have a very broad work history, which gives me a wide range of experiences to draw upon. I have worked in theatre and music, IT, academia and the film industry. I have recently moved from Sydney, Australia to Berlin.

| Why Me? |
What makes you the best person for your job? I am an Australian native speaker of English with several years' experience teaching English and Linguistics at universities in and around Sydney. I have also published work in academic journals and magazines, and I continue to write journalistic and academic articles. I am professional, dependable, well presented, relaxed, patient and I love language.
In teaching, I try to achieve balance between understanding how the language works and putting that understanding into practice.
In copywriting and editing, I have exceptional attention to detail and an unusual ability to find very precise ways of communicating a certain idea or feeling. I like to write with flair, but I am able to absorb and reproduce any style a client requires.
What is your best project so far? Why? I pride myself on my ability to engage with my students as real people.
I'm very proud of the way I have managed to impact on students' lives outside the classroom. In Sydney, my home city, I taught Academic Literacy to students from Asia. They often experienced trouble adjusting to life away from home, and they had difficulty making friends. Some were very unhappy, even depressed. I am proud of the patience and compassion I showed them, helping students to develop strategies for engaging with their new country and improve their actual day-to-day lives.
