What is your best project so far? Why? My current work teaching English in Germany (at a company and gymnasium) are the direct result of my ability to build strong relationships & invest in the success of my students, as well as connecting with wonderful people from around the globe. A family of former German students facilitated the opportunity to move to Germany from the United States to have the experience of another culture & a new language. It is imperative to be able to "walk in their shoes" to understand the challenges of the language acquisiton and cultural adjustment processes in English or any other language. In my previous work with students and families, I also piloted a program for non-English adults to have access to language learning & community resources.
What do your students / customers say about you? My students love me! I’ve worked with students and families from all continens with varying degrees of initial English language abilities from none whatsoever to some students with basic proficiency. At any level, my students/clients know I am committed to their success-I have the patience and expertise to build their language skills, in addition to helping them with the biological, social, emotional and intellectual difficulties of learning and living in a new or different English language environment. Colleagues, community members and acquaintances would also attest to my solid work ethic, diligence and dedication to my “people” and my work.
